SEPF AGM 2004 - 2004-07-29 00:05:08 |
| The Scottish Eightball Pool Federation held its Annual General Meeting at the Broadhill Bar, Aberdeen on Sunday 4th July 2004.
There was an excellent turnout given that it was at the height of the holiday season and people were travelling from all over Scotland... Mike Keddie, Chairman spoke of the progress that has been made over the last year. Membership of the Federation has increased by the week and continues to grow. He also reported that individual players and teams performed well at the World Championships, the European Championships and the Home Internationals. Sue Thompson retained her World title at Blackpool adding to her already impressive haul whilst Darren Matthew contested the final of the European Championships with the eventual winner Darren Appleton. There were also changes at committee level. With the resignation of the Secretary, Chris Lawrie (due to work commitments), Mike Keddie, Chairperson was elected Secretary and Matthew Ritchie, Vice-Chairman was elected to Chairman. A few positions still need to be filled but this will be done in the near future. Overall its been a good solid year for the SEPF. Membership of the Federation has grown, participation in tournaments has increased, the amount of venues now being used has gone up and more and more people now want to play World Rules. There are plans to bring World Rules into Central Scotland so that players in this region can also enjoy the benefits of playing in SEPF tournaments. Players can also qualify to play for Scotland at the various international tournaments. Mike Keddie, SEPF Secretary has produced an extensive programme of events for season 2004 – 2005. These tournaments will take place all over Scotland at top venues. Those taking part can be assured that competition will be keen and the overall standard of play will be absolutely top class. Anyone interested in taking part in any SEPF events should contact Mike on 07792181753. The committee would like to thank everyone for their efforts over the previous season and look forward to another successful year." |
