Grand Final: Kentish Town, London
The Grand Final of the EPPP (English Professional Pool Players) Tour was played at Kentish Town this weekend (11-12 December) and Rob Hill ( pictured , left )emerged the winner after a final that went down to the deciding frame...
Hill, of course, had already won one event on the EPPP Tour this year after claiming event three in Swindon and he had featured in each of the other three EPPP Tour finals this season, losing two to Andy Lucas and one to Daniel Davy. So it was no surprise to see the ever-consistent Essex cueman make it five finals in a row at the home of eightball in London. His opponent in the final was Andy Lucas, the other dominant force on the EPPP Tour this season, who himself had already won two events on the Tour and also claimed the World Professional Champion crown earlier this year. It was always going to be a close affair between these two great rivals and good friends and so it proved with Hill eventually edging it 11-10. The losing semi-finalists were Immingham cueman Wayne Camm, who lost 4-10 to Hill, and the in-form Matt Inglis, who was beaten 3-10 by Lucas. Derek Murphy and London players Dean Wisher, John Sullivan and Brian Evans were the losing quarter-finalists. A full list of the end-of-season rankings will follow shortly with any amateur players in the top 16 getting the chance to join the Professional Pool Players Organisation.
